Introducing our latest survey and mapping service: 3D terrestrial laser scanning (TLS)

We have recently added the Reigl VZ1000 terrestrial laser scanner into our survey and mapping toolbox. This is with the objective of providing our clients with a more effective tool as well as to provide a wider selection of survey and mapping solutions for a diverse set of circumstances and applications of our customers.

Point Clouds captured by Terrestrail Laser Scanner

The V-Line 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanners RIEGL VZ-1000 provide high speed, non-contact data acquisition for ranges up to 1400 m using a narrow infrared laser beam and a fast scanning mechanism. High-accuracy laser ranging is based upon RIEGL's unique echo digitization and online waveform processing, which allows achieving superior measurement capability even under adverse atmospheric conditions and the evaluation of multiple target echoes..

The scanner is suitable for advanced 3D surveying and modeling works which require high density of data points. The terrestrial scanning method is fast, long range (up to 1.4km) , safe and reliable. Some of the obvious applications include:
1. Topographical survey, digital terrain modeling
2. As-built, civil structure, tunnel , industry plant survey
3. Transmission line survey, building or structure monitoring survey
4. Building facade survey
5. Mapping of  sensitive site (e.g. historical or hazardous sites e.g. slope failure)
6. Urban development, city modeling and virtual reality creation etc.

Deliverables can be in the form of  point clouds, CAD file, cross section/profile, topo/structure plan etc.

Dear Kong:

As a valued and trusted partner of GeoEye, I want to personally reach out to you with some exciting news about our company.

Today, we announced that DigitalGlobe and GeoEye, two leading providers of earth observation and geospatial analysis, have finalized our combination.  Click here to read the press release.

Back in July, when we announced our intention to come together, we did so with an eye toward building a company enabled to help customers solve an increasingly broader array of geospatial challenges.  With a robust suite of services, stronger financial resources and the knowledge and expertise of some of the world’s best geospatial production and analysis professionals, we are confident that DigitalGlobe will be even better positioned to meet customer needs.

We expect a smooth transition for our channel partners and customers, and we remain committed to delivering superior customer value through more offerings, more resources and more capabilities.  Your current GeoEye salesperson will remain your day-to-day contact, and, as always, please feel free to reach out to them with any questions.  Your customer service contacts and ordering systems and processes will also remain the same for all GeoEye products.
