Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) for transmission line tower

Thanks to the reliability, high resolution and accuracy - TLS system is the perfect survey/reality capture tool for tower structures - as it can scans and registers millions of points within minutes.

Recently we completed a job to scan and model transmission line towers for our client.

Scanning and modelling of a tower

The speedy data acquisition at the site also makes this method highly suitable for scanning and modelling of other complex structures such as bridges, buildings, etc.

The prerequisite is that the structure must be within the scanning range (usually from a minimum of 0.5m to tens or hundred of meters, depending on the type of scanner used). In addition to this, an unimpeded direct view is also essential from TLS position(s) to the structure.

Another example from our past work was a bridge structure:-

The more complex is the structure the more justifiable it will be for the deployment of this technology due to the superior data acquisition speed compare with other techniques.

Feel free to contact us if you have such survey need.
